Mary and Nathan met in school. Their orchestra class was going to Italy for spring break. They were in the same class and hadn’t spoken to each other before. Mary went up to Nathan and said something along the line of “100 more days until Italy” and they began counting down the days together. Once they got back from Italy, they were all in.
This brings us to seven years later at the Knotting Hills Event Venue and Resort in Pevely, Missouri. These two couldn't have asked for a more perfect day for their wedding, or for a more perfect venue.
The ladies got ready in the Bridal Suite at The Lake side of Knotting Hills. The bride's hair and makeup were finished when we arrived and the bridesmaids were in the chairs getting dolled up. The bride's gown was gorgeous as we grabbed a couple different shots of the dress, flowers and rings.
The groom and his guys were chilling on the opposite side of the lake, where they were nestled in a studio cabin on top of a hill. They played pool and had a few beers before time to get ready for the day.
And what a delight that their fur baby was able to be a part of the pictures and wedding party. This sweet canine not only posed, but carried the rings on a pillow down the aisle. It was definitely an off the charts adorable moment.
The groomsmen were fun and got into the moment with the groom as we captured a few images. The groom looked handsome in his suit and did a wonderful job as we captured some great solo moments.
The bridesmaids shared a first look with the bride when she was all zipped and clipped into her gown and veil. Many hugs and few tears later we grabbed pics of the ladies by the waterfall. Mary was absolutely gorgeous and we LOVE a cathedral veil! Love it!
We even got to do a first look with Mary's Dad. His smile said it all.
During the ceremony when the groom got to see his bride for the first time, his eyes about popped out of his head before tears filled them. He made sure everyone knew she was getting ready to come down the aisle and he motioned for everyone to stand up for his bride, and when she made it to the end of the aisle, Mary and Nathan embraced. Such a sweet and touching moment.
After the ceremony we got to grab some fun wedding party pictures and video, and then it was just us with the couple. They did phenomenal. Sore feet and all.
At the reception, the father of the bride, sister of the bride, MOH and BM made speeches. I was struck by the touching moments that was shared about Mary and Nathan and to learn about where their first kiss happened. At an IMOs, in the back by the dumpster when Nathan was getting off work. Priceless! When it's your true love... it's magic!
After guests ate, the cake was cut, speeches done, the dance floor opened and this couple made sure everyone got out on the dance floor at that everyone had a light stick in hand. To help with those nerves the couple even had their own signature cocktails that guests could partake to help them get a little looser on the dance floor.
What a spectacular day, and couple! Thank you Mary and Nathan for letting us be a part of your day. We pray that you two have an incredibly blessed marriage.
