I'm going to state the obvious. One thing everyone knows about this couple, or if you didn't you'll learn quickly - Caitlin and Luke are hugs sports fans. They have a great love for each other and a great love for the ups and downs they get to spend with all their favorite teams at home in St. Louis, or across the country in Buffalo, where they jet set off for their honeymoon to hit the Bills game.
But before the honeymoon was the wedding day. Everyone gathered at the Main Street Abbey in Columbia, Illinois. Weather was looking like it wouldn't cooperate; cold and rain and drizzle; but then in the moments when we needed it, the rain would clear and we'd have a great moment to capture some gorgeous shots.
The bride! Caitlin. Already a beautiful woman, on her wedding day, absolutely stunning. and surrounded by the most important ladies decked in lavish black. When we did the first look with the bridesmaids there were tears and so much joy.
And the groom! Handsome as ever in his tux and black Nike's. He had a great group of men who came together to witness, stand by, and celebrate his marriage. There was only one thing. We needed someone who knew how to tie a bow tie. Of all the nine men there, including the groom, no one knew how to tie a bow tie. Except for Charming Hearts' wonderful assistant, Jennifer, who got onto YouTube and tied a bowtie. Her first one! Luke was ecstatic!
The ceremony was beautiful. This photographer may have kicked over an electric candle or two. Okay, it was three, right before the bride was set to come down the aisle. Once the I do's were said and the kiss sealed we grabbed photos of the couple and one precious shot of Caitlin and Luke with their beloved dog, Stanley. Remember they're sports fans, so he's named after the Stanley Cup.
A the reception everyone danced and partied and the bride had a little something up her sleeve. Luke was surprised when Louie made an appearance and then Fredbird himself. Everyone cheered and much fun ensued. What a great day and a great night with this exceptional couple. Thank you so much for choosing us to be a part of your day. Hugs you two! #buskenouttathepark
